Semi-annual inspections

Commercial cooking suppression systems are inspected every six months under NFPA 96 and the manufacturer’s requirements. Each visit includes:

  • Checking the agent cylinder, cartridge and pressure.
  • Inspecting nozzles, caps and piping over every appliance.
  • Testing the detection line and fusible links, and replacing links on schedule.
  • Testing the manual pull station and the gas or electric shut-off.
  • Tagging the system and leaving a written report.

Menu changes and nozzle rework

Moving a fryer or adding a charbroiler changes what the system has to cover. We re-work nozzles for proper coverage whenever the cook line changes, so the system matches what is actually under the hood.

New installations

We design and install new ANSUL systems for new restaurants and remodels, and replace older systems that no longer meet the UL 300 standard.

Where we work

Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio, Cathedral City, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, Desert Hot Springs, Coachella, Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms.

Other services at the same visit

Every commercial kitchen also needs a Class K fire extinguisher, serviced annually. We do both on one visit.

Common questions

How often does a hood suppression system need inspecting?

Every six months.

Is hood cleaning the same thing?

No. Hood and duct cleaning removes grease buildup and is done by a cleaning company. We inspect and service the suppression system that puts out a fire. Your fire marshal will ask for both.

We changed our menu. Do we need to call you?

Yes, if any appliance was added, removed or moved under the hood. Nozzles are aimed at specific appliances.

Call and a technician will come out to service your property.
