Inspections every six months

Under NFPA 96 and the manufacturer’s requirements, commercial cooking suppression systems are inspected twice a year, and your local fire inspector will want to see a current tag. On each visit we:

  • Check the agent cylinder, cartridge and pressure.
  • Look over the nozzles, caps and piping above every appliance.
  • Test the detection line and fusible links, and swap links when they are due.
  • Test the pull station and confirm the gas or electric supply shuts off.
  • Tag the system and leave a written report.

What we see most in Twentynine Palms

Public agency kitchens usually come with their own paperwork: purchase orders, access badges and a facilities contact who needs the report in a particular form. We set that up once and repeat it every six months. Blowing dust in the High Desert settles on nozzle caps and grease, so we pay close attention to caps that are missing or packed shut. Small restaurants here often run one or two appliances, and a single swap on the line can leave it uncovered.

Changes to the line and new systems

Whenever an appliance moves in or out from under the hood, we rework the nozzles to match. We install new systems for new kitchens and replace older ones that do not meet the UL 300 standard.

Common questions

Can you work with our agency’s purchasing process?

Yes. Tell us what your purchasing office needs on the quote and the report, and we provide it each time.

Is hood cleaning part of the inspection?

No. Grease cleaning of the hood and duct is done by a cleaning company. We inspect and service the suppression system itself, and your inspector will ask about both.

Call and a technician will come out to service your property.
