In this article, What is Fire? you will learn what fire really is and the best way to explain it to others.

A fire consists of three elements:

 

  1. Fuel: something which will burn
  2. Heat: enough to make the fuel burn
  3. Oxygen: air
All three elements must be present at the same time to have a fire. The result is a combination of light and heat that comes from a chemical reaction from those elements. 
Fire will burn until one or more of the elements is removed, then the fire will go out.
