The biggest group we can identify by name is housing: at least 64 apartment communities, senior living communities and mobile home parks. Annual service for Cathedral City properties

California adopts NFPA 10, and CCR Title 19 requires portable extinguishers to be serviced and tagged by a licensed company. The Cathedral City Fire Department looks for a current tag on every unit. At each visit we:

  • Check pressure, seals, hose, nozzle and mounting on every extinguisher.
  • Put a new dated service tag on each unit.
  • Confirm the type and size fit the hazard in that space, from a carport to a kitchen.
  • List anything missing, damaged or blocked, with the fix quoted in writing.

What we see most in Cathedral City

Apartment complexes and mobile home parks put extinguishers outdoors, in breezeways, laundry rooms and along walkways, where sun and wind wear out hoses and fade labels faster than anything kept inside. Units also go missing or get discharged between visits, so we walk the whole property instead of working from last year’s list. Auto shops and gas stations need units sized for flammable liquids, and we check that the ones on the wall still match what the shop does now.

Recharging and hydrostatic testing

Every extinguisher has internal maintenance and hydrostatic test dates set by its type. We track those dates for each unit, recharge any extinguisher after it has been used, and replace cylinders that fail the test. When a property needs new units, cabinets or brackets, we supply and mount them.

Common questions

We manage a mobile home park. Which extinguishers are our responsibility?

Usually the ones in common areas: the clubhouse, laundry, pool equipment and maintenance buildings. Tell us what the park owns and we service and tag those.

Our restaurant had a hood inspection. Does that cover the extinguishers?

No. The Class K extinguisher by the fryers and the rest of the units in the building are serviced separately each year. We can do both on one visit.

Call and a technician will come out to service your property.
